Rebecca, Ben, Barbara and I travel to Israel. We spend the first few days by ourselves visiting the Galilee, where I lived for 10th grade. We then joined our synagogue's youth choir and families for a tour of the country, starting in Jerusalem

Jonathan Siegel (JSBird) > We arrived before the main tour, to see Haifa, Acco (Acre) and the upper Galilee. I spent 10th grade on an upper Galilee Kibbutz, Kfar Blum.

Jonathan Siegel (JSBird) > The mosque in Acco. Acco was the port citadel used by the Crusaders, including Richard the Lionhearted. Napolean failed to take the city.

Jonathan Siegel (JSBird) > The crusaders built a long tunnel under the city.

Jonathan Siegel (JSBird) > Map of old Acre. Currently this old northen city is almost all Israeli Arab.

Jonathan Siegel (JSBird) > Some churches survived the cleansing done by the moslems after the crusaders were kicked out
